Corroboree 4-H Across the Seas

Commercial Road Primary - Australia

HISTORY Morwell State School opened in 1879. We have about 240 children in 11 classes.

Our front garden had a Backyard Blitz by a team of parents, children and volunteers to build our frog garden. (OCTOBER 2004)

The garden has three ponds and streams which extend for about 20 metres. The habitat should attract Common Froglets(Crinia signifera)and Spotted Marsh frogs(Lymnodynastes tasmaniensis)

We added a tank to collect rainwater from the school roof, using this water to supply the ponds.

In Sept 2005 we planted out the area with frog friendly plants.

The top three photos are of the wetlands we study and the others are our mini wetland at school.
