Join the Corroboree
The 4-H Corroboree project is designed to stimulate students
and teachers in the USA and Australia to learn about science
inquiry and each other by participating in a shared habitat data
collection project. The project is testing a new method of distance
education, where the learning is facilitated in the classroom
by a teacher. Requirements to participate in the 4-H Corroboree
include agreeing to have students and teachers complete pre-
and post-program evaluations, actively posting data on the site
and participating in the Discussion Board. Access to a digital
camera is a plus.
When a school or teacher decides to have one or more classrooms
participate in the 4-H Corroboree they must contact the project
manager to sign up. Participation is limited due to server space.
Each school is given a "home page" where they can introduce themselves
to other participating schools and post six digital photos. Schools
will collect data using the 4-H Natural Science Data Pages for Water, Habitat and Photo Monitoring. Either students or teachers may
post data. Once data is posted, schools may use the features
of the web site to compare their data with any other participating
school. Students and teachers will use the Discussion Board to
answer posted research questions together, exchange thoughts
and ideas about their habitat projects, and ask questions of
each other. Teacher and student feedback will be used to plan
improvements to the site.
